The Material Efficiency and Resource Conservation project (MaRess) is intended to support the activities of the German Environment Ministry (BMU) and the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) in designing and implementing the BMU / UBA energy and resource efficiency initiative. In terms of policy consulting the aim is to bring the project's preliminary findings to bear in the political process. This may be done by means of, for example, working papers and the compilation of statistical data.
Parallel to these policy consulting activities, important findings are to be made accessible to a wider public in policy papers written and designed for a general readership.
