WP 8: Conferences

A preliminary conference on the subject of Material Efficiency and Resource Conservation took place in the autumn of 2007, as part of a series of conferences on environmentally benign industrial policy. The Wuppertal Institute produced a background paper for this conference.

A second major conference is planned for autumn 2008, under the working title "Masterplan Ressourceneffizienz Deutschland: eine Zwischenbilanz" (A Resource Efficiency Master Plan for Germany: Interim Results). A background paper will lay the groundwork for this conference, and the event will subsequently be evaluated. Its core content includes the initial findings on the economic potential and advantages of conserving resources. The background paper for this conference and the evaluation paper will be made available to participants and other interested parties in downloadable format. The Wuppertal Institute is organising the conference.

A final conference is to be held in autumn 2009 at the earliest. In preparation for this meeting important project findings and achievements will be presented in a background paper. As with the second major conference the Wuppertal Institute will lay the organisational and thematic groundwork for this event, evaluate it, compile the results and make them available to download.
